Pre-printed forms

Wilma

I need to be able to print on pre-printed forms with Word. The form is a
3-ply pin feed and the size of an individual form is 4' x 8.5" . Where and
how do I go about setting this up. My data is in Excel and I need to do a
mail merge onto this form.

Any and All help will be appreciated!!

Thanks,
Wilma

Hi Wilma,

From the Tools menu, select Envelopes and Labels and then select the Labels
tab and then click on the Options button and check the Dot Matrx item and
look through all of the different brands and types of labels to see if you
can find one that is the same dimensions as yours. If you do, you can use
that as the basis for a label type mailmerge. If you can find one, you will
have to create your own custom label which can be done in the dialog
mentioned above.

You will need to arrange the mergefields on the label to suit your
pre-printed form and to get this right, you may need to split the cell of
the label (labels are actually tables with fixed cell dimensions) into
multipled columns and rows.

This all may be a bit fiddly, but once you get it set up right, the rest
will be easy.

Please respond to the newsgroups for the benefit of others who may be
interested.

Hope this helps

Thank you so much for your help. I went into the office today (Saturday) and
was able to
mail merge from Excel to Word and print on pre-printed forms. I have saved
all of my alignment
info and will also be able to complete these jobs in the future. I also
changed the paper size to
8.5 x12 - fanfold on the server....its works like a dream.

Thanks again,
Wilma
