Pre-Word 2007 documents "lengthened" in Compatibility Mode

I finally upgraded to MSO 2007 and was disappointed to see all of my old
documents incorrectly rendered on the screen. For example, a perfeclty
formatted two page resume created in an older version of Word now shows about
a page and a quarter followed by another page and a quarter in Compatibility
Mode. Where a paragraph used to have three lines it now has four, and so on.
(It's as if each line is lengthened a bit so there is word wrap.) This same
exact file displays perfectly in Compatibility Mode on another computer with
Home and Student 2007. I'm working with MS Support, have uninstalled and
reinstalled, etc. without success thus far. Another session with MS Support
is planned. Anybody else see this or know what is going on? I have downloaded
and installed all the updates and have the most current build.

Thank you for the suggestions. My gut feel is that it has nothing to do with
the printer driver. Here's why: I created a document in the older version of
Word an hour before installing MSO 2007. I then opened that one hour old
document and noticed the improper rendering. All of this happened on the same
machine within an hour an there were no other changes - no printer driver
updates, no installs on new printers, no change of default printer, etc.
