Preferences reporting

I need to print my preferences for all my Office products. We are moving to
another company defined desktop with all the defaults and my profile will not
follow me. I need to either access my profile and print it off in some
readable format or go to each Office product and print my preferences for
each. Any takers?

What version of Office are you using? If it's 2000 or later, you should
be able to save you settings using the Profile Wizard or Save My Settings
Wizard to save most of your Office settings. The resulting file can be
copied to a CD or USB drive and loaded onto the new system. (Depending on
your specific situation, there may be other transfer options as well.)
I've used this with Office 2003, and it did a fairly good job. It didn't
catch quite everything, but most options were transferred.

Will the fact that we are going from a 'roaming' profile to a single desktop
profile cause problems for me if I change from the 'new' one on the new
desktop to my 'old' profile on the new desktop? I suspect it will. This is
why I was looking for a method by which to print out a result set for my
preferences so that I can reset them once I'm moved over to the new desktop.

That should make no difference. The only difference between a roaming
profile and a non-roaming profile is the way in which it's administered.
Also, the term "profle" in Office doesn't mean quite the same thing as it
does in Windows, which may be why the name was changed to "Save My
Settings Wizard" in later Office versions.
