Is it possible to have have MSOffice pre-installed in a pendrive or
external hdd and run office application from the external drive in any winxp
machine without having to do any installation?

Any enlightenment would be highly appreciated.

When you install Office on Windows, (or most other Windows-compatible
applications for that matter), in order to function properly, there are many
entries put into the registry. if you just put Office on a pen drive, there
won't be any of the entries in the registry, and so it wouldn't function.
