"preparing to install" dialog box popp when opening programs

Everytime I open a microsoft office product such as word
or outlook, a dialog box pops up saying it is preparing
to install. These usually go away after about 5 seconds,
but it is incredibly annoying. Is there anything I can do
to fix this. It seems like it is fixing itself everytime
I open a program, but I don't know what to do. Thank you
very much.
