preserve links in word

I am a newbie to Visio so please be gentle!

I have writted some Visio process flows

Some of the shapes have hyperlinks to relevant word documents, PDFs,
Pictures, WebPages etc.

Everything works perfectly in VISIO and I am really pleased with it

I want to now put all of these PROCESS DIAGRAMS together into a "Manual"

I want to use MS Word and insert the Vision diagrams PRESERVING ALL OF THE
LINKS I HAVE SET UP

At the moment when I paste into Word and try to click on the shape it
selects the whole diagram (as if it was a picture)

If Word can't do what I want can anyone recommend a way of collating all of
my process flows into a Manual (that will have additional words, pictures,
layouts around the Vision process diagrams)

Thanks for any help!

Your Visio flow will paste like a picture into Word. My suggestion is to
create a rectangle with no fill and no lines that is hyperlinked to the
documents/pictures you want. To open the hyperlinks in Word you will need to
press "ctrl" and left click.

I have tried a simple version of this process and it works well from Office
2003 and Visio Professional 2003.

I hope this helps.

Thanks PPRM Guru

This is certainly a viable work around

I have now decided to tackle my problem from another angle

I am going to try and produce the "Manual" within VISIO using "Background
Pages" for the layout and header of the pages

I will then distribute the VISIO VIEWER to others to see if it all works

Thanks for your help - if anyone else has used VISIO to create online
procedure manuals with links I would appreciate any further advice

Thanks
