pressing f5 opens macros window instead of running code

how do i stop the above? have never had this problem on previous
machines that i have worked on.

The only way i can test code at the moment is to add a button to a
form and then trigger it.. its quite a pain..

Make sure the insertion point is placed *inside* a procedure before pressing
F5. Pressing F5 while the insertion point is, for example, in the
declarations section of a module will open the macros window.

You can also test public subs and functions in the Immediate window (press
Ctrl+G to open the Immediate window).
