Prevent changing *.mdw file

How can I prevent change of .mdw file, which my mdb is
using? In my database every user has diferent permitions
for every table, form, query and report, but everyone have
acces to tools menu, and can change .mdw file, using
workgroup administrator submenu. How can I prevent users
from doing it?

If you've applied Access security properly, it won't matter if they change
their MDW file. If they do, they won't be able to use the database at all.
If that's not what's happening in your case, then I suspect you applied
security incorrectly. A common mistake is forgetting to remove the Admin
user from the Admins group.

The Access Security FAQ is at
http://support.microsoft.com/support/access/content/secfaq.asp

Thank you for answering my question. I've removed the
Admin user form the Admins group. My mdb is on our local
network's server and still if user tries to change used
mdw file with the one which Access creates when the
program is open for the first time, first the database
denys it, with message that the user don't have a
permission to do that and the shortcut to the database
stops working. If user creat new shortcut - he is able to
open my mdb with his mdw file. I've restricted the
directory in server, so users can access it but can't
really sees its contents, but I don't think that it solves
tthe problem.

My advice would be to reread the Security FAQ carefully a couple of times,
and try securing your database again, making sure you don't leave out any
steps.

If you're still having problems, newsgroup microsoft.public.access.security
is devoted strictly to Access security
