Prevent deleting a project workspace in Project 2007

We're using EPM 2007, is there any way to prevent a project manager from
deleting their project workspace? I've got permissions set so that no one
can delete a project but I don't see anywhere to prevent them from deleting a
project workspace.
TIA

By disabling the global permission "Manage Windows SharePoint Services" for
the PM group, you can prevent a PM from deleting workspaces on that page.

There is another place to delete the site and that is by going to "Site
Settings>Site Administration>Delete this site" from the site itself. This
option is not available out-of-the-box for users in the Project Managers
group on the SharePoint site.

Yeah, Jonathan - I have the same question as Paul. If they can't "Manage
WIndows SharePoint Services" does that mean they won't be able to edit their
project workspace? We want them to be able to add documents, create lists,
edit web parts, etc. We just don't want them to delete them.

"Manage Windows SharePoint Services" global permission in PWA will give the
user a "Web Administrators (Microsoft Office Project Server)" permission
level on all SharePoint sites and therefore give them full control of those
workspaces.

"Save Project to Project Server" category permission in PWA will give the
user a "Project Manager (Microsoft Office Project Server)" permission level
on the project workspaces attached to projects which they have rights to
save to the server via the categories in PWA.

I do not know off the top of my head all the permissions that a Project
Manager permission level has in SharePoint but I know they have a lot of
rights, just not as many as Web Administrator and definitely they cannot
delete a site.

You can see what the detailed permissions are for the PM permission level by
going to a workspace and then to Site Actions>Site Settings>Advanced
Permissions>Settings>Permissions Levels and drill into Project Manager
(Microsoft Office Project Server).

These detailed permission settings on the workspace cannot be changed in the
template either, they can only be changed after the workspace has been
provisioned and only for that particular workspace.

Hope this helps,

Jonathan
