Prevent ribbon tab from returning home by default [ppt 2007]

Hi,
Suppose I am working on a new slide, then I do insert->text box. Then
i add the text box. As soon as I type some text in the textbox, the
ribbon switches to the first tab (Home).
I would prefer it would stay where I last used it.
Is there a way to achieve this or is this one of those bug/feature
issues?

Oh, this is one of those things where Microsoft of course knows better about
what you want than you do. I don't know of any way to change the behavior,
sorry.

While it makes some sense to swap to the home tab (for font edits etc) I can
see it's annoying if you don't need to! Like Echo I don't think you can "fix"
this but it might help to use ALT N to quicky swap back
