Two clients of mine experience the problem reported many times here with
various versions of Outlook: Some mails do not get sent by the account they
chose it to go out.
One has multiple companies he represents. When contacting a prospect, it is
more than unprofessional if his messages are sent with the wrong sending
domain.
One is a lawyer and he uses a secure messaging service (http://p4u.ch) for
confidential information. It is a disaster if outlook changes to the non-SSL
protected other accounts if the information is labeled confidential and
supposedly only transmitted via the secured mailing service.
When does it happen: if the smtp host of p4u.ch is not reachable (e.g. due
to some DSL overload or other temporary networking problem) or if the
authenticating password is incorrect.
Can Outlook be configured to simply NOT send a message if there is a problem
with the specified outgoing account?
Not being able rely on a message only being sent by the chosen outgoing
account (and identity plus security settings) appears to me to be hardly
acceptable for a professional mailing tool.
