Preview and Print are not the same

When I Preview a report (which has two sub reports) it looks exactly as it
should, as a one page report. But when I physically print the report, it is
apparently doing a page break at the beginning of the first sub report...but
only once, to give me a two page report.

For example the one page report in preview looks as follows:

Main Report
Sub Report 1
Sub Report 2
Sub Report 1
Sub Report 2

When I print the above preview, it looks as follows, with two pages:
Main Report
Page Break
Main Report
Sub Report 1
Sub Report 2
Sub Report 1
Sub Report 2

Can someone give me a hint as to what's wrong? Why are the preview and hard
copy different?
