Preview image of Excel template

S

Satbn

I recently submitted an excel template. Once this was visible in the newly
submitted list, I see that the preview image is an enlarged version of a
small image I had put in the first cell!

I had not "checked" the save-preview-image in the advanced properties
assuming that is the problem. So, I deleted the template and again uploaded a
new version with this option "checked". My assumption was that the contents
of the first worksheet will be picked up as the preview image.

Is this not the case?

How do we get the preview image that we want in the Excel template?

Oh! Sorry, I was not clear on that.

No! that didn't fix it. It still shows the old preview which is picked up
from Cell A1 :-(

Hm. Now that you've opted to save thumbnail previews, save the template with
a new name and see if that fixes it.

Also, what do you see for the file thumbnail if you look at the file in a
Windows Explorer window?

In the windows explorer window, I see a part of the first sheet as the
thumbnail (which is probably the right thing).

Will have to try a new name as you have suggested! may be in a new category!

Hi Echo...

I have uploaded a new version of the template to another category and is
currently under "Processing", so I do not know how the preview looks. BUT,
meanwhile, I am very keen to get the preview image problem sorted out for the
previous submission! The more and more I see the image, the more it looks a
turn-off :-(

Any help in this regard would be wonderful!

Thanks

Hi Echo

Update (in addition to my other 2 replies on this) :

The submit process for the second template is also complete. And,
unfortunately, even THAT is having the same preview image as template#1
(which is the enlarged image of Cell A1 !!!).

Here is the link to see -
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC300054381033.aspx?pid=CT101436151033

Any help towards rectifying the image would be GREAT!

All I see is "this template has been removed" and a big red X image.

I don't know about the previews. As I mentioned before, I would start with
the previews of the files on your computer. Are they correct?

Sorry! Its becoz the submission was later removed since it was closely
matching the earlier one...! (moral of the story - a template cannot exist in
multiple categories!)

Coming back to your question - Yes! the previews in the windows explorer are
fine!

This is the live one -
