Preview pane delays

I am using Outlook 2003 with Exchange 2003 behind it. I am using the preview
pane feature, and when I click on an e-mail that has no attachments, it
displays immediately, but when I click on an e-mail that has attachments, it
takes around 20-30 seconds to display the e-mail.
I am not using Cached Exchange Mode, though when I was, the problem still
manifested itself.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to things to try to correct this issue?
And as an IT guy, I can tell you that I HAVE tried rebooting! ;-)
Thanks,
Greg

The attachment has to be downloaded from the server. Let's say the
bandwidth you get between the client and server is 20 Mb(its)/sec. An
attachment of 40 MB(ytes) will certainly produce that kind of delay.

Sorry for the double post! I was having trouble the first time I submitted
the question, and did not get a confirmation - I got a page could not be
found error, and refreshing didn't help, so I thought I would just repost to
make sure! :)
Appreciate the feedback, though the bandwidth is not the issue! The response
from leskiepie seems to have solved the problem though, using outlook.exe
/cleanviews.
Thanks for the feedback, though! :)

Try using a real newsreader instead of the web interface Microsoft supplies.
You'll be happier and you won't get the bogus error. Forte Agent and Xnews
are two free ones, as is Outlook Express.
