Preview Pane when opening documents

Have just upgrade to Vista & 2007. In the past I was able to preview the
files before I opened them to make sure I was opening the correct file. I
have gone to open the file and added the preview pane but they are unable to
be previewed. It shows an error message of unable to show preview. So I was
wondering it is because the files where from Publisher 2003 or is there
another reason.
Help please.

The preview is gone... It was a great feature. I don't get an error, just a
message saying the preview isn't available. I'm not sure if it is a bug or the
preview was eliminated by design.
