Previously complete tasks now incomplete

We have an instance where a PM was updating a project plan in Pro. The
changes required a Publish Changed Assignments. After publishing and saving
the plan, the PM re-opened the plan. All previously completed tasks were at
0% for both Work Complete and % Complete. We are using Managed Periods and
the plan was originally imported to Server (after temporarily turning off
Managed Periods and Timesheet Approvals). Anybody else had problems with
actuals being reduced to zero?

It sounds to me like he accidently selected the check box to overwrite
actuals.
I don't think this can be undone - sorry

NO; there were no accidents. I can replicate the issue now. It is specific to
projects that are imported to Project Server in a Managed Periods
environment. It happens when a team member completes their assignment but
does not reduce Remaining Work to 0. The PM then updated the plan in Project
Pro and declares the task Complete. The Remaining Work is reduced to 0
(correct) and an envelope icon appears in the info column to advise that
Publish New & Changed Assignments is required (also correct). When
publishing, a message appears stating that Actuals might not reconcide to
timesheets, with a request for OK. After the plan is published, all tasks
marked 100% Complete get changed to 0%. % Work Complete remains at 100%. The
workaround is to zero out Remaining Work BEFORE marking the task 100%
Complete.
