but I can't figger out how. Anyone know how please

In an image editor, or if you don't have one use Paint, make the page black
and print it...however, unless your printer can print full bleeds you will
have a white border around the black. Much easier to use a black piece of
colored paper and put it over your newspaper you're scanning. (I assume this
is what you mean???)

Yes thanks Rob that's what I mean
Can you tell me how to fill a whole page with black in Paint
I can only get a small rectangle on the page
I have a Canon printer which can do borderless printing
But my first try using Word came out Mauve, not Black?

Not all printers will print borderless on all sizes. You'll have to read
your printer's manual to determine what your limitations may be.

The mauve vs black thing sounds like you're out of black ink.

Use the little Paint Bucket and just click on the page...make sure you're
using Black color first.

The rest JoAnn answered.

....my Epson 910 only prints borderless up to 5x7, so check your printer docs

....and make sure you set up your page to A4 before you fill black

I still wonder why you're doing this...is it to keep the type from the back
of the newspaper from showing through, or are you trying to make a black
border around the article. If the later it would be much easier to do this
in an image editor.

Yes, but I think I'll just purchase a black sheet, less bother

Thank you for your help

A piece of black construction paper is likely a lot less than the ink
it takes to print a black page. ;-)

As an aside: Amazon.com has pretty good prices on ink cartridges. ;-)
