print a preview of my poster on 8.5 x 11

I have created a 20" x 30" poster that will be sent to a printer for
printing. However, I'd like to print a preview of it on my printer. How can
I specify that I want a scaled down preview to print on 8.5 x 11 w/o
recreating the whole document?

In printer properties, select the paper size and specify 'fit to page'..

If your printer does not support scaling, you can use an application such as
PrimoPDF from www.primopdf.com to convert the publication to PDF at full
page size, then set Adobe Reader to scale the page to fit your printer's
output.
