Print and Web Layout Options

In Word XP, I want to permanently set Print and Web Layout
options on the View tab under Tools | Options to include
Drawings in my view. However, when I check the box for
Drawings and close Word, the box is unchecked when I next
open Word. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Is
there a simple fix, other that creating an autorun macro
to re-check the box each time I launch Word?

Whenever Word fails to preserve Options settings, there are two likely
explanations:

1. The Registry Data key is damaged. For repair instructions, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissingMenusEtc.htm

2. An add-in is changing your settings (probably unintentionally). If this
is the problem, then rebuilding the Registry key won't help and even an
AutoExec macro won't help (as I discovered) because the add-in loads after
Normal.dot. The only thing that will help is to get rid of the add-in (if
you can spare it) or contact the author of the add-in and ask that it be
modified not to change your Options settings.
