print from a DOS file

I am using a DOS program to generate graphic plots, I need to print the
results, this worked well with 2000 but cannot get the same results with XP

2000 what and XP what? Word or Windows? And exactly how are the "results"
different?

What file format does the program create? Maybe you need to use a graphics
program like IrfanView (www.irfanview.com) to convert the format to something
more usable, such as jpg, gif, or png.
