Is it possible to configure Excel XP to always print the grid lines without having to select this option each time a new spreadsheet is created using Page Setup

Hi Stephen,
You could set up both a book.xlt and a sheet.xlt (templates) with the things that you
want. The book template will be used for new workbooks and the sheet template
for adding new worksheets.
