Print Layout View

My template now seems to have a light blue grid
(background) on all new Normal.doc's

How do I get rid of this feature. If I open an existing
doc that does not have this background and try to save
the style to Normal.dot it accepts it, but still puts the
light blue grid in!!!

From the drawing toolbar > draw > grid > uncheck show gridlines
