Print Layout

I am using Word 2003 and when I start a new document, the
default does not show the negative indent in Print
Layout. As a result, it looks like my text starts at the
very edge of the page. If I click on View -> Header &
Footer, the page then displays the entire page (with the
negative (grey) margin) as in Print Preview. This used
do work as the default in Word 2002. Does anyone know
how to set this as the default in 2003? Appreciate it!

Hi PK,

If you are talking about the top/bottom margins, from the Tools menu, select
Options and then go to the View tab and check the box beside "White space
between pages (Print view only).

Otherwise, it may just be a case of the zoom setting. Select Page width,
rather than Text width.

Also, make sure you are really in Print Layout view and not in Normal view.

You solved my problem! Thank you VERY MUCH!

I wish MS would make a clearer distinction between 'Print
Layout View', 'Print View Only' - which is listed by that
option - and 'Print Preview'! At least they should be
consistent and use the same wording, huh?

It's also interesting when I upgraded from Word 2002 to
2003 that this option changed.

At any rate, really appreciated your help!!! -PK
