Print number larger than cell

How do I get a cell to accept a number larger than it when I do not want to
increase size of column. The cell will accept text that prints over the cell
in next column but with numbers I only get "xxx". Help.

You can try using
Format | Cells | and tick the [Shrink to Fit] option on the Alignment tab.
You may not like what you see.

Many thanks to you. That's a good compromise. The numbers are a bit small so I will change column width just a bit.

Do you need the numbers for calculation?

If not, enter an apostrophe then type the number.

It is now text and will fill across the adjacent cell.
