print screen but only a selected portion

I want to drop a screen dump onto a slide but want to be able to selct just a
portion of the screen to show for better clarity.

You need to paste it into a paint program and crop the portion you want to keep.
Can't do this directly in PowerPoint

Thanks. i had been doing that but had hoped there was a more direct way that
I was unaware of, as there often is.
