Print Spooler hangs

Vista Ultimate SP2
2 GB RAM

My wife's system performace degrades to a crawl. I lookup in task manager
and find print spooler >90%.

This is a networked system and her network printers are on a SBS 2003
server. I thought it might have been her USB inkjet printer but I "pulled"
the USB plug and the spooler still goes rouge.

Any thoughts on what is happeneing
