I read in another discussion that only Office 2003 alone can you set up
Microsoft Document Imaging as a print option. I have Windows XP with Office
2003 but I cannot figure out how to add "Print to Mocrosoft Document Image"
as a printer option. Can anyone halp explain?

Thank you,
Bob

Hi Bob,

MS Office Document Imaging and the Office Document Image Writer are optional installation programs. If you go to Add/Remove
Programs in the Windows control panel and use the [Change] button for Microsoft Office 2003 and then choose to add/remove features,
in the advanced customization features list you'll find it under Office Tools

Thanks for the response. I was mistaken in the version I have. I have
Office XP Professional. Do you know if there are drivers I can download?

Thanks for your time!

Hi Bob,

Unfortunately, no. As I understand it the print and file
capability for .MDI relies on parts of Office 2003 being present.

Well, I have been using MS office since word 6. I believe MS document
imaging program has been there at least since office 97. I am sure the .mdi
option is availabe at least since office 2000. However I have never used
"print to image writer" command. MS document imaging program is an add-on
under Microsoft Office tool.
