printed margins not the same as print preview

N

I've posted this earlier in formatting documents but this
section seems more relevant!

I am trying to print a long document as economically as
possible. In print preview, text appears to end very near
bottom of page. The actual printed page, however, falls
short by some 2-3". No text is missing, but it seems
smaller than I would expect. Before I print, I get a
message "Margins of section 1 are set outside the
printable area of the page. Do you want to continue?"

I want to fully fill the page, eith with more text or with
larger size text, but I don't want the wasted 2-3" at the
bottom. I'm sure this is a simple problem, but I can't
work it out! Thanks, anyone!

This type of problem seems to occur most often with the HP drivers for
LaserJet printers, and there are workarounds (updated drivers) for those. I
don't know that the problem has previously been reported with an Epson, and
the Microsoft team that is tracking this problem would like more information
from you about it. Can you provide a sample document that is exhibiting the
problem and information about your printer driver? If so, please contact me
by email.

Meanwhile, you might want to Google on this issue. The keywords "2.67"
margin" will bring up a lot of hits, especially in
microsoft.public.word.printingfonts.
