printed slides are not centered but pushed to top - how to fix?

When I create a slide, the view on screen looks centered in the page. When I
go to print preview, or actually print, the whole set of text and pictures is
shifted far to the top of the page. If I have used the whole space (7.5x10),
it also cuts off some of the bottom. I normally use the portrait, standard
letter size paper and I have confirmed these settings. This is a problem
with my home computer and printer. I do not have this issue at work. My
home printer is an HP692C inkjet. The version of powerpoint is 2002. Thanks
for any help...
