Printer and XP compatibility

I just installed Windows XP. My HP deskjet 5150 printer doesn't work. Is
there something I should download to make this work? I just bought this
printer 6 months ago, and hate to have to go get another one.

You did not say how you installed WinXp if you did an upgrade then you
should have done a check to see what hardware and software should have been
removed before an upgrade
What you probably should have done was remove the printer drivers before an
upgrade then did the upgrade
A 5150 should have XP drivers they should be on the disk that came with the
printer
Check with HP for a uninstalled which may remove all the software
If there isn't one then uninstall XP going back to your original OS
then remove the drivers and upgrade again
