I am currently running Windows XP with a Lexmark Ink Jet Z43 printer.
On the first print of the day I have to power off and on the printer
before it will print. The printer will act normally until there is an
idle period. Then I have to power off and on again before it prints.
This happens on all programs. The messages appear to be spooling ok.
The printer is connected to LPT1 port. I can't recall when this
started happening, but I'm sure it was ok when first connected. It's
like the printer is shutting down when in a long idle period and
toggling the power switch wakes it up. TIA for your response. Bill
