Printer works from every other Microsoft product except for Word

Trying to print to my network printer freezes Microsoft Word 2007 with no
error message and no time out. You have to give it the three finger solute
to get back on your feet.

I have reproduced this problem with two other computers, both with fresh WIN
XP PRO SP2 installs.

The printer is connected via USB through my wireless router. Like I said, I
can print fine from any other program including Test Print.

Thanks for any fast help, my clients are waiting on me...I just finished
doing their whole wireless network.

Also note: This defect is legacy all the way back to Word 2002.

Thanks again,

Word MUST have and see a local printer driver to work correctly. If you
connect the printer directly to the local USB port and install it, does Word
now print?

Yes, word prints as expected when it is connected directly via USB. I have
installed the latest drivers for the printer, updated the wireless router,
and updated word. Still nothing.

The printer driver or wireless router must be incompatible. If Word prints
correctly when the printer is installed locally, then it eliminates Word as
being the problem. And if it didn't print with Word XP and you are now using
Word 2007 - it makes me even more certain that it has to be a problem with
the way the printer driver is set up over the network.
