Printing a 3 column list

Les

Suppose I have a column (A) which has last names in it in Excel 97. I need
to know how to convert that 1 long column into 3 columns, maintain the sort
order, and then print it. I obviously can do it the long way by copying and
pasting but do any of you have a much easier way to do it.

Thank you in advance for your help,

Les

Sometimes, I'll just copy the long column into MSWord and use its Format|columns
to set it up the way I want.

Then print from there.

Les,

Or, if you don't want to write your own code then...
My Excel add-in "Side by Side" does what you want.
(you can specify a two, three or four column(s) arrangement)

It's very fast, easy to use and comes with a one page Word.doc
install/use instruction file.
It is free upon direct request. Remove xxx from address below.

Hi Frank,

Listen I just hit the link you gave me and it is not working. Please if you
can check it and verify that it is correct. Anxious to see it.

Thanks,

Les

Hello Debra,

Listen is there an easy way to sort, say 3 columns without needing to put
them into one column? ie

B K L
E O A
T C Y
G M D

If I have these 3 columns in excel is there a way to sort them all as if
they were all in one column so that they read?

A E M
B G O
C K T
D L Y

Certainly when all the data is in 1 column sorting is easy. I just seem
to remember being able to do this some time ago. I am using Word 97 fyi.

Thanks again,

Les

If you aren't using formulas, you may want to keep your data in Word. It reacts
nicely to inserted and deleted cells in the table and it's easily sorted.
