Printing an A5, folding to A6, Greetings Card

I'm trying to print, as the title suggests, an A5 Greetings Card that
folds to A6. I'm using the Blends Thank-you card template, to be precise.

The template is set up to print all 4 A6 'pages' on one sheet of A4, so
if I then reverse the sheet and print a second copy on the verso I end
up with 2 cards.

I cannot, however, find any local shop that sells A4 cards appropriately
scored and creased for separation and folding. What I can find is A5
card creased to fold down to A6 (in fact, a quick search on the net
suggests that if such A4 card is available none of the big stores sell it).

How do I print this using the available A5 card? I've experimented
with various printer and page settings but I'm running up against the
problem that Publisher is convinced that what I think is four separate
pages is, in fact, one single page of A4.

Is there any way round this?

You need to setup your publication as a booklet. Input 7.4cm for your height. This
will give you two cards per page.
You can open the Blends template and copy the objects to your new setup.

I am not real good at your paper sizes.

Thanks. I hope I've understood your suggestion properly. I've set it
up as an A5 book fold publication and copied the objects over 'page' by
'page' and this seems to work. It prints page 1 of 2 (i.e. outside back
and outside front of the card) and then, when I reverse the card, it
prints inside front and inside back. I'm not sure if I'm making myself
clear but everything ends up in the right place!

For info, A4 is 297mm x 210mm. That's what the Blends template for a
'Thank you' card expects, at least if you're using UK ISO paper sizes.
A5, which is the size of card I've got, is 210mm x 148mm, and this folds
down to 148mm x 105mm.

There's an article, with size tables for all paper sizes, at

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_sizes

which I find a very useful reference.

Stephen, I have the differences in paper sizes printed out and tacked on the wall. It
doesn't help... I end up selecting centimeters in Publisher's options and setting my
printer for the same so I can get the measurements sort of correct. We have a UK MVP,
it is easier for him.

Or You Could Keep It Simple And Print On A4 Card Then Score It Using A knife
And A Ruler It Would Probably Be Cheaper As Well

Is this a side-fold card or a top-fold card?

For a side-fold card, go to File > Page Setup > Printer and Paper; set your
paper size there to A5, then go to the Layout tab and select Booklet.

For a top-fold card, go to File > Page Setup > Printer and Paper; set your
paper size there to A5, then go to the Layout tab and select Folded Card >
Tent Card
