Printing check boxes

When I print a report containing a check box, the box that surrounds the
check (or non-check, is very faint and has no formatting (shadowing, etc). Is
this normal? Can I make it print darker?

In design view, look at the format properties and make sure you have the
border style on solid and the special effects set the way you want. If it
is still too faint, consider drawing a rectangle around the checkbox, and
set its back style to transparent, and border width to 2-3 pts.
