Printing compressed to half width pages only

All programs print documents with the page compressed to
half of an a4 sheet. All printer settings are set to A4
and test pages print correctly but printing a document
always reverts back to half pages on the left of the page.

This looks like an out of date driver. Check the printer manufacturer's web
site for their latest driver.
