Printing Emails - Oversize Fonts

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop Hi,
When printing emails - the font sizes come out huger and vary in size and often double/triple spacing (even the signature will have huge oversized lines of font. Will have varied font sizes and line spacing throughout the email. A half page email will take up anything up to 2 A4 pages. The email address header stays normal.

The email appears normal size and spacing when read on screen.

I never used to have this problem printing but recently it is all emails received.

Please can you help me - I cannot find a solution.

Thanks very much
Gingin

Can you post a screenshot of what's happening? You can post one for free
on <http://imageshack.us/> and then provide the link here.

Have you recently changed printers or updated your printer software? Do
you have the correct printer software installed?

Does this problem occur with all your messages or from just certain people?

Are all of these messages in HTML format? Do you have this problem with
plain text messages?

However, it seems that the content of received emails in HTML may be
overriding that in some of my experiments.

Yes, HTML will override any font settings you have for printing. This is
why we strongly encourage folks to use plain text and not HTML for mail.

Plain text allows the recipient to control the appearance of his
messages whereas HTML allows the sender to control the appearance of his
messages. Some recipients are visually impaired and may need different
settings. HTML thwarts their ability to change these settings.

Since senders may be obstinate or uninformed about the consequences of sending HTML, the receiver should be enabled by a Print option to override or ignore the HTML foolishness. A Feature Request, perhaps, if anybody is listening.

Please be sure to let Microsoft know you'd like to see this feature in
future versions by using the Help --> Send Feedback mechanism in any
Office application.
