Printing form with multi line texbox

Hi there,

Wondered if anyone could offer me some advice with a small prob.

Using MS Access 2003, I have set up a database and form.
In my form I have a multiline, scrollable textbox. The amount of text
entered into this field can vary as it is for miscelleanous notes and
comments.

When I print the record from the form using a button created by the Command
Button Wizard, it only actually prints the text that is visible in the text
box at the time, even if the text continues several lines below. I would
like to print all the text in the record.

My first thought was to have a hidden label which unhides itself and is
populated with whatever text is in the textbox, and then hide the textbox
before printing. I'm sure this must be a fairly typical issue that people
come up against though I tried some Googling and didn't find much. Before I
try my idea, I wondered if there was an easier way or best practice
recommendation.

Or is there a way to just print the record in a table style without the form
layout etc.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Cheers

Rob

Hi Rob,

Printing forms is generally not a good idea for several reasons, one of
which is the one your' having trouble with. Your best bet is to create a
report based on the same datasource as the form, and print that.

Hi Susan,
Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction - that makes a lot of
sense.
Regards
Rob
