Printing highlighted cells

S

Shelley

Hi - I'm doing a spreadsheet and am high-lighting certain rows which I need
to emphasise on the printed copy
but although they appear high-lighted (yellow) on my screen, this does not
show on the hard copy. Am I perhaps doing something wrong or is it not
possible to print high-lighted cells in an Excel spreadsheet?

Thanks.

Shelley, you will need to fill the cells with a color, format, cells,
patterns, pick a color, or click on the button that looks like a paint can
on the tool bar

Paul, Thanks. I had tried that already (with the little paint can on the
toolbar and again just now the way you suggested) and although the
high-light colour appears on the screen just how I want it to appear on the
hard copy, when I print the spreadsheet out on the printer the background
high-light colour doesn't show. I've tried doing this at work and also on my
home pc in case it was a printer problem but I cant get it to print on
either!

Shelley, try file, page setup, sheet, look under print and see if black and
white is checked, if so uncheck it

Paul,

Arghhh! I just don't believe it.....................I did what you said and
the black and white box wasn't checked so I thought I'd just "have another
go" and used a different colour and........yep, it worked! The yellow ink
cartridge is empty here at work - and obviously there's a problem with my
home printer yellow ink too, probably a clogged head as I don't use it much.
I feel so foolish. Thank you SO much for your help which I really do
appreciate and I'm so sorry for wasting your time.
