Printing large documents using customer paper size.

I seem to have hit a wall on printing to a plotter. First the details.

1) I am running Visio 2003 on XP
2) The document is about 88W x 36H
3) I am using an HP Designjet 500 42

What I have tried.

1) Using the printer set to E size I have tried
a)printing 2 pages wide by 1 page high this gave me a gap between the
document on the pages where the margin is.
b)printing 2 pages wide by 1 page high with remove margin between pages,
this gave me the document on 1 continuous page but reversed the left and
right hand sides of the document.

2) Trying to set to a custom page size, most entertaining, all the dialogs
seem to recognize the custom page except print setup tab in the page setup
dialog, no matter what I do or where I set the custom page size these always
say 8.5x11.

3) Printing a scale of 91% (it keeps the break between boxes on the
document), works but has a gap in the middle.

I have looked all over the internet and not found anything (close but no
cigar kind of stuff) , anybody out there solve this?

TIA, Art
