right click label, select properties dialog, select Tab 'Other' and change 'Vertical' to YES and re-shape your label to fit text.

However I am using Ver 2002 and I do not see the Vertical option.

I take it you started with the Report in Design mode and then selected the
label in question with a right click to enter the properties dialog and so
on??
