Printing Outlook Calendars

I recently upgraded from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007. Calendars printed in
Outlook 2003 had very crisp grid lines and printed color-coded categories if
desired. It was easy to read. I'm not finding the same to be true in
Outlook 2007. Events that cover a block of time (say an hour or more) are
not clear to read, grid lines disappear, colored categories don't print
colors -- just black and white -- it's difficult to look at the calendar and
determine when events start and end.

I'm using the same printer, a HP Photosmart C6180. I've tried various
settings in Page Setup. I've changed my printer preferences. But I'm not
seeing any changes. I'm at a loss as to where to look next. I've tried
looking at the Microsoft Online Training and Demos and nothing addresses the
issues I'm having. I don't know if my problems are with Outlook 2007 or with
my printer or with the two of them "talking to one another". I lean towards
Outlook 2007 because I didn't have these issues with Outlook 2003.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

there are some printing issues with outlook 2007. There are printing tools
which work better, including the calendar printing assistant. A list of the
utilities is here: http://www.slipstick.com/addins/calendar_print.asp

The color problem is specific to outlook and the printer driver and I don't
recall if there is a fix for it.

Thank you for your timely response to my question.

I have downloaded and installed both the Calendar Printing Assistant and the
Calendar Printing Assistant for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 SP1. (I do
have SP1 installed already.) But neither seemed to have made a difference.

Perhaps I'm not understanding something...after installing them should I
notice a difference in menu options within Outlook? Or do I do something
different when I attempt to print a calendar? Nothing seems to have changed,
including the final product that comes out of my printer.

Maybe I just have to live with what I've got until an upgrade or fix is
released??????

the CAP is a separate program - browse to the office folder on the start
menu. Start Menu, All Programs, Microsoft Office - look in office tools.
