My apologies, I have written before but mislaid my password.

This is NOT a Microsoft Word problem at the point of printing, but rather about a PDF file created by MS Word.

We are using a variety of Apple Macintosh computers running OS X 10.4 or 10.5.5

We have two HP LaserJet 4250tn printers running on the network.

We began to experience printing problems when receiving PDF documents created by Microsoft Word and typically 350k in size. As these documents are not created by us this is a particularly frustrating problem.

When sent from any Mac, neither of the printers is able to print these MS Word PDF documents. On the printer the attention indicator illuminates, when the tick button is pressed the printer prints a page with the following two lines ...

ERROR: limitcheck
OFFENDING COMMAND: image

We are able to view the documents perfectly in Preview or Safari but neither application will print.

If we email these documents to one of our PC users, they print perfectly on the same HP printers.

I will happily email a sample PDF file if required.

Appreciate any comments.

Eeeeewwww.... I think there is a phone call to HP in your future :)

I have found HP Support to be prompt, knowledgeable, and free. Let's hope
your luck holds.

I suspect that what is happening is that the HP Driver has been updated on
the Windows boxes but not on the Macs.

HP may be able to supply a better driver for the macs.

Failing that, I would set one of those Windows Boxes up as a "Print Server"
and allow the Macs to connect to its printer driver.

Hope this helps
