Printing problems - photos in word documents

Helen

I have recently had to produce fliers on word:mac v.x using photos
(.jpg files). I insert the photo from a file using insert > picture.
I have re-sized the photos to the right physical size and 300dpi, but
although they look perfect on the screen they print out at a much
lower resolution. Where am I going wrong? Have tried using other types
of picture files, but have no better results. Searched Help, but no
solutions. My printer in an Epson Stylus Photo and I choose a quality
setting and paper.

You are not doing anything wrong, but Word and / or your printer driver is.

When you display a document in Word, it makes a screen (low-) resolution
image for display.

If the printer drive gets confused, it prints the preview image instead of
the real one.

You might try cutting the picture out of the document and pasting it back in
again, This clears the previewed image.

Hope this help
