Printing semitransparent PNGs

Patrick

Hello -
I have created a photographic image in Photoshop and reduced its opacity
(via the layers palette) to 50%. In Photoshop, I save the file as a PNG-24
with transparency. When the image is inserted into PowerPoint, it looks fine
-- the semitransparency is intact (I can see text through the image).
However, when printed, there is no transparency (I cannot see text through
the image). Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?

I am using PowerPoint 2002, SP1 and Windows XP; creating the image using
Photoshop CS. Thanks!

This may be an issue with your printer instead of PowerPoint. If you create
an autoshape with a semitransparent fill, does it print the transparency?

Hello, and thanks for the information! If I create an autoshape with a
semintransparent fill, it prints the transparency. Hmmmm....
