printing separate captions on a sheet of Avery labels

I have Avery 8986 labels and am running Microsoft Office 2003. I want to
print a sheet of labels with a different caption on each label. I can't
figure out how to do it. I know this is likely simple, but all I can find is
a single caption repeated on all labels.

Please help.

After choosing the label type in the Labels dialog, leave the address
box empty and click the New Document button. In the resulting
document, there will be an empty table (click Table > Show Gridlines
if you don't see the cell edges immediately). Type the different
addresses into the cells, which correspond to individual labels.

The other method is to use mail merge
(http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_labels_with_word_xp.htm). This is
better if you're going to want to print repeatedly from an assortment
of labels.
