Priority

I am using MSP Office 2003 and am having problems prioritizing tasks within
the project. I prioritized a task within the project as 900 working through
"Task Info" screen, but a 500 priority task is still scheduled to start
before the 900 priority task. Both have same resource identified. How do I
get the 900 priority task to start on desired date?

Hi Bernie V,

Task priorities are used in conjunction with the Resource Leveling command.
(Tools> Level Resources.) The task priority is *one* of the factors (the
Help files list seven) Project uses to determine which task to delay to
resolve a resource overallocation. Once you have set your task priorities,
in the Resource Leveling dialog box, set the Leveling Order to "Priority,
Standard" to have Project place task priority as the first criteria (out of
the seven).

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie
