Is there some way I can add a hit counter to my FP03 app that I can access,
but not have it displayed to everyone?

Replace the graphic with a custom one that has no number in it. Then use
the CNT file to check the number.

Or, better yet, use the log files from the server directly.

Yes.

1. Add a transparent GIF file (i.e. a spacer) to
your Web site.
2. Right-click the Hit counter.
3. Choose FrontPage Component Properties from the
shortcut menu.
4. Under Coutner Style, click Custom Picture and then
a file path such as /images/spacer.gif. The leading
slash is required, and the path starts from the root
of your Web.

Alternatively:

o Check to see if your host runs WebTrends or some
other Web statistics program.
o If the server is running the FrontPage Server
Extensions, consider activating FrontPage Usage
Analysis.
