"Private" markup tag in table cells

I pull up a WordXP doc on four different machines. On two
systems, the doc looks fine. On the other two, a lot of
the cells in the tables have "Private" in them in
addition to the text. The word "private" does not print
out (the doc looks fine in print preview), so I'm
assuming it is some kind of page markup. Also the font on
those two stations show as Arial(Latin) instead of just
Arial.

Any clues?
thanks.

The "Arial(Latin)" probably reflects the printer driver selected. the
{PRIVATE} things are fields (you can disappear them with Alt+F9). Their
presence generally indicates that the document has been converted from
another app, usually WordPerfect. Unless you're planning on converting back,
it's quite all right to delete them, as they're just for roundtripping
purposes.
