Probelm with saving projects under a new name - portfolio modeler/res substitution wizard

Hello,

I have renamed some of our projects by opening the projects, saving them
under a new name and then deleting the old projects from the database. I
have re-published the projects but now when I try to run the Resource
Substitution Wizard and want to add some projects to the list of projects I
get a message that says "xxx project cannot be added - please refer to your
System Administrator". I have checked that the projects are all checked in
and I can't find any other problems.

I am drawan to the conclusion that this has something to do with the fact
that I saved some existing projects under a new name then deleted the old
one (as far as I could tell this os the only way of renaming the project !).

Furthermore I tried to build a model in Portfolio Modeler and when I tried
to add one of the new projects I got the same error message as above.

The OLAP cube generates OK and info for the projects is visible in the PA
views.

Anyone got any ideas ???

Pleeeese !

Thanks

Gary

Gary:

To execute this without problems, follow these steps:

1) Save the project in question to an mpp file
2) From Admin > Cleanup Project Server Database, Delete any non published
versions of the project
3) Delete the published version
4) Import the file under the new name using Tools > Enterprise Options >
Import Project to Enterprise

Hi Gary,

But if I do that won't I lose all the values stored in the Enterprise Taxt,
Resource and Project fields ?

I don't want to do that for obvious reasons.

Surely theres a way to rename a project that isn't so complicated ??

Even if the owner of the project can't do it - surely an Administrator can
do it ?

If not - please put it on the top wish list for the next version before it
comes out please !! (or a service pack ASAP).

Thanks

Gary
